The REIFF NESTOR 47082 is a British Standard Pipe Tap designed to cut 3/4-14 BSPT threads in pipe fittings, manifolds, and threaded port applications. Manufactured from high speed steel with a bright finish, this tap delivers consistent thread geometry in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bottoming chamfer style allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole or to the end of a short threaded section. With 5 flutes and a regular hook, it provides efficient chip evacuation during tapping operations. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical tradespeople working with BSPT-threaded components will find this tap suited to shop and field thread-repair work.
This tap is used when cutting or re-chasing 3/4-14 BSPT internal threads in pipe fittings, valve bodies, hydraulic ports, and similar components. BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) threads follow a 55-degree thread form and are commonly encountered in imported equipment, marine systems, and industrial machinery. The bottoming chamfer is specifically chosen when the full thread must extend as close as possible to the base of the tapped hole, making it appropriate for tight-clearance port work rather than through-hole applications.
Designed for cutting 3/4-14 BSPT internal threads per British Standard Pipe Taper specifications, suitable for use in pipe fittings, valve bodies, and hydraulic or pneumatic port applications requiring BSPT thread form.
This tap is installed by plumbers, pipefitters, and machinists using a tap wrench or machine tapping setup. Always apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material and ensure the tap is started square to the hole to prevent thread damage or tap breakage. Power down and de-energize any system before thread repair work on in-service components. Follow applicable shop safety and IFGC or IPC guidelines when working on piping systems.
