The REHAU 499781-001 is a 2-inch by 2-inch F1960 polymer 90-degree elbow cold expansion fitting designed for use with REHAU PEXa pipe systems. This fitting connects two PEXa pipe runs at a right angle and is installed using commercially available F1960 cold expansion tooling. It meets ASTM F877 and CSA B137.5 standards for SDR9 PEX pipe, and complies with the lead-free requirements of the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on potable water and hydronic systems are the primary installers of this fitting.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where PEXa tubing is routed through tight spaces or around obstacles requiring a 90-degree directional change. The F1960 cold expansion method creates a reliable, leak-resistant joint without open flame or solvent cement. Installers should follow all published REHAU Technical Guidelines and verify that the fitting is paired with the correct REHAU F1960 expansion rings and PEXa pipe. It is not compatible with PEXb or PEXc pipe or with crimp and clamp fitting systems.
Designed for use with REHAU PEXa pipe only, in conjunction with REHAU F1960 cold expansion rings. Compatible with SDR9 PEXa pipe systems rated per ASTM F877 and CSA B137.5. Not compatible with PEXb, PEXc, crimp, or clamp-style fitting systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber using commercially available F1960 cold expansion tools sized for 2-inch PEXa pipe. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before beginning work, and verify the pipe is clean and free of debris before expanding. Follow all published REHAU Technical Guidelines for proper expansion ring placement and joint completion. Local plumbing codes, including applicable IPC requirements, govern inspection and approval of the completed installation.
