The REHAU 132571-023 is a 1-1/4-inch PEXa pipe with a co-extruded polyethylene UV shield, sold in 20-foot lengths. It is manufactured using REHAU's high-pressure peroxide crosslinking method, which produces a true PEXa molecular structure with a high degree of crosslink density. The co-extruded PE shield provides protection against ultraviolet light exposure for up to one year, making this pipe suitable for jobsite staging and installations where the pipe may see temporary sunlight exposure before being concealed. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this product in residential and commercial water distribution and hydronic systems.
This pipe is used in potable water supply, radiant heating, and hydronic distribution applications. The 1-1/4-inch diameter is a common size in main distribution runs, manifold supply lines, and larger residential or light commercial systems. The 20-foot length is typical for straight-stick PEXa, allowing for easier handling and cutting to length in mechanical rooms and utility spaces. Its white color aids identification on jobsites where multiple pipe types or sizes are in use.
Designed as an OEM-style PEXa pipe for use with expansion-style PEXa fittings and compatible manifold systems in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic heating installations.
Installation of PEXa pipe should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before making any connections. PEXa pipe requires an expansion-style tool and compatible fittings — do not use crimp or clamp fittings designed for PEXb or PEXc without confirming code and manufacturer approval. Protect the pipe from prolonged UV exposure beyond the rated one-year window by enclosing or covering it promptly after rough-in.
