The RECTORSEAL CORPORATION 23551 is an 8-ounce, non-setting, multi-purpose thread sealant compound formulated for use on a wide range of threaded pipe materials. The compound contains Teflon synthetic fibers that reinforce the seal at threaded joints, providing stronger leak resistance than standard pipe dope compounds. It is packaged in a can and conforms to federal specification TT-S-1732. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors use this product on both residential and commercial piping systems wherever threaded connections require a reliable, pressure-ready seal.
This sealant is suited for threaded connections in plumbing, gas, HVAC, and general mechanical piping systems. It can be applied to galvanized steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, polyethylene, RTRP, PVC, CPVC, and ABS pipe threads. One of its key practical advantages is that the system may be pressurized immediately after application, reducing downtime on service calls and new installations. It is well-suited for both residential repair work and commercial mechanical rough-in where multiple pipe materials are present on the same job.
Suitable for use on threaded galvanized steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, polyethylene, RTRP, PVC, CPVC, and ABS pipe and fittings.
Applied by licensed plumbers or pipefitters to clean, dry threaded pipe connections before assembly. Ensure threads are free of debris, oil, and moisture prior to application for best results. Always verify that the sealant is compatible with the specific fluid or gas service before use. Follow all applicable plumbing and mechanical codes, including IPC and IFGC requirements, for thread sealing compounds on piping systems.
