The RECTORSEAL 96100 is a magnetic float switch system designed for metal secondary condensate drain pans in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. It monitors rising condensate levels and triggers a shutoff signal before overflow occurs, preventing water damage to ceilings, walls, and equipment. The switch operates at 5 amps and 24 volts AC, making it compatible with standard low-voltage HVAC control circuits. A two-piece clamp design mounts directly to the metal pan without drilling, and the unit ships with wiring included so installation can be completed in under ten seconds. A protective cover shields the float mechanism from insulation and debris that could impede float travel. HVAC technicians install this component during system commissioning or as a replacement safety device on existing equipment.
The 96100 is suited for split-system air handlers, fan coils, and packaged units where a secondary drain pan is required by code. It is installed directly to the metal secondary drain pan in residential and light commercial applications. The 24-volt AC signal output connects into the low-voltage control circuit to shut down the unit when condensate reaches the trigger depth of 0.75 inches vertical, stopping overflow before damage begins. The protective cover allows easy field access for periodic maintenance and cleaning without removing the switch from the pan.
Designed as an OEM-style safety switch for metal secondary condensate drain pans in residential and light commercial HVAC installations where a low-voltage float shutoff device is required.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect power to the air handler or fan coil unit at the disconnect or breaker before wiring the switch into the low-voltage control circuit. Mount the clamp to the metal secondary drain pan and route the included wiring to the control board per the equipment wiring diagram. Verify float travel is unobstructed and the protective cover is seated before restoring power.
