The QUIETFLEX 1884 is an 18-inch diameter flexible duct sold in a 25-foot length with an R8.0 insulation value and a silver outer jacket. It is designed for use in forced-air HVAC distribution systems where high thermal performance is required. The duct core is constructed with a galvanized or bronze metal reinforcing helix, and the insulation is supplied by Johns Manville. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers use this product to connect air handlers, plenums, and branch takeoffs to diffusers and registers in both residential and light commercial applications.
This flexible duct is suited for residential, commercial, and manufactured housing HVAC installations. The oversized core is dimensioned to slip fit onto standard collars and register boxes without additional modification. QUIETFLEX manufactures flex duct from 3 inches through 20 inches in diameter for R8.0 insulation levels. The 25-foot bag format is a standard field length that reduces waste on most residential branch-run cuts. Weather-resistant packaging protects the product during jobsite storage.
Designed for use in residential, commercial, and manufactured home forced-air HVAC distribution systems requiring flexible branch duct with R8.0 insulation. Compatible with standard 18-inch collars, plenums, and register boxes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and NFPA 90A or 90B as applicable. Power down the air handling unit and verify the system is de-energized before making duct connections. Secure each end of the flex duct with an approved drawband or zip tie at a minimum of one inch behind the bead of the collar, then apply UL 181B-listed mastic or foil tape over the connection. Avoid sharp bends, kinks, or compressed sections that restrict airflow or degrade insulation performance.
