The PROMAX US556064 is a 5-flute square end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in CNC milling applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for demanding cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.25 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1.25 inch length of cut and a 38-degree helix angle to balance chip evacuation with surface finish quality. A PowerLayer coating reduces friction and extends tool life in production environments. This end mill is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with a straight cylindrical shank, suited for use by machinists and tool and die professionals on vertical and horizontal milling machines.
The US556064 fits standard 0.25 inch collet and end mill holders found on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. With a 3 inch overall length and standard length classification, it is appropriate for general-purpose peripheral and slot milling at typical reach requirements. The variable index flute geometry reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts, making it a practical choice for finishing passes as well as roughing in harder alloys. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece.
Designed as a standard 0.25 inch shank square end mill compatible with CNC machining centers, manual mills, and any spindle or toolholder accepting a straight cylindrical 0.25 inch shank. Part of the PROMAX US556 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out before toolholder engagement. Seat the shank to the recommended minimum depth in the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use. Follow applicable machine tool safety guidelines and shop standards when setting speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
