The PROMAX US007229 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding milling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals. It features a 3/4 inch (0.7500 inch) mill diameter, a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) corner radius, and a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, with an overall length of 4 inches. The micrograin carbide substrate is finished with PROMAX PowerLayer coating, which extends tool life across a broad range of workpiece materials. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonics and chatter during both roughing and finishing passes. This end mill is installed by machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms.
The US007229 is suited for milling applications where a radiused corner is required to reduce stress concentrations at the base of a feature or to produce a blended fillet. The long-length configuration and 2.2500 inch decimal length of cut make it practical for deep-pocket and side-wall work. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry. The coarse pitch, variable helix design supports both slotting and profiling in difficult-to-machine alloys. A straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard toolholders for reliable runout control.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with appropriate collet or end mill holder. Part of the PROMAX Series US007 long-length corner radius end mill family.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before seating or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, particularly given the long-reach configuration, which increases deflection sensitivity at elevated feed rates.
