The PROMAX US007061 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the US007 series platform, it features a 5/8-inch (0.6250-inch) mill diameter, a 0.030-inch corner radius, and a 1/2-inch length of cut. The four-flute configuration supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool, reducing changeovers. A PROMAX PowerLayer coating extends tool life when cutting abrasive or hard materials. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration during cuts, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals. The stub-length, straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders. The coarse pitch and right-hand flute direction make it a strong choice for aggressive material removal where chip evacuation matters. It is appropriate for both horizontal and vertical milling centers in general-purpose and precision production applications.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 5/16-inch (0.3125-inch) shank diameter. Compatible with horizontal and vertical CNC milling machines. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, N).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool from the toolholder. Confirm the shank is fully seated and the toolholder collet or set screw is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify spindle runout after installation, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and shortens tool life.
