The PROMAX US007017 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals. It carries a 1 inch mill diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and four flutes arranged in a variable helix and variable index geometry that breaks up harmonics and reduces chatter during both roughing and finishing passes. The PowerLayer coating increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in high-heat cutting environments. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. The stub length profile keeps the tool rigid under aggressive feed rates.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills where a corner radius profile is needed to reduce stress concentrations at the base of a feature. The 0.3125 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length make it a compact, high-rigidity choice for shallow pocketing, slotting, and profiling in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. It mounts in standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 0.1875 inch shank diameter.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 0.1875 inch shank diameter. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals per PROMAX Series US007 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's runout and torque specifications. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended insertion depth before tightening. Verify spindle and toolholder are free of chips or contamination before mounting. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
