The PROMAX 156-32424 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 7/16-inch (0.4375-inch) cutting diameter, a 0.0200-inch corner radius, and a 5/8-inch length of cut. The 4-flute, single-end geometry with a 40-degree high helix and AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating makes this tool well suited for high-speed cutting in tough materials. Centercutting capability allows for plunge entry. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill is built for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Its coarse pitch, variable index, and high-helix flute geometry support both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard toolholders used on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The short length type and rigid carbide substrate help maintain dimensional accuracy when cutting hard and abrasion-resistant workpiece materials. Series 156 identifies this as part of PROMAX's corner radius end mill line for high-performance applications.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with ER collet chucks, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders sized for 3/8-inch shanks.
This tool is installed by machinists or CNC setup personnel on milling machines and machining centers. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chips or wear before each use, particularly when cutting superalloys or titanium.
