The PROMAX 119-01616 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. Built from micrograin carbide stock and coated with zirconium nitride (ZrN), it runs a 0.25 inch cutting diameter with a 0.02 inch corner radius on a 3-flute, right-hand geometry. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across a wide range of workpiece materials. With a 0.75 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length, it fits standard toolholders used by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling on CNC machining centers and manual mills where a corner radius profile is required to reduce stress concentration at part corners or meet a blended-radius callout on the print. The 0.25 inch straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard collets and end mill holders. Its single-end, center-cutting design allows direct plunge entry and side milling without a pre-drilled pilot. The ZrN coating extends tool life when cutting non-ferrous alloys, aluminum, brass, and similar materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit cutting tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.25 inch straight-cylindrical shank with standard collet or end mill holder tooling.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per shop safety procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before running production cuts. Feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters should be set based on the workpiece material and machine capability - do not exceed the rated length of cut of 0.75 inches axially.
