The PROMAX 111-04012 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) finish, this tool delivers reliable cutting performance and extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 5/8 inch diameter, 4-flute configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry is standard on this series. The 1-1/4 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length make it suitable for standard-depth slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. Typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where a 5/8 inch shank toolholder or collet is available. The Series 111 regular-length configuration is a common choice for side milling, contouring, and shoulder milling operations. The non-centercutting design means it is not intended for direct plunge cuts into solid material. Applications span general-purpose machining of steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar machinable alloys where TiCN coating provides a hardness and lubricity advantage over uncoated carbide.
Designed for use in any machine spindle accepting a 5/8 inch shank via collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder. Part of the PROMAX Series 111 regular-length square end mill family.
Installation requires a properly sized 5/8 inch toolholder or collet; ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended gauge line before tightening. Confirm spindle runout is within acceptable tolerance before cutting to avoid premature edge wear. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or adjusting any cutting tool. This tool is not designed for plunge entry - use a ramping or helical entry toolpath when full-depth engagement is required.
