The PROMAX 111-03224 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from micrograin carbide stock with an AlTiN finish, this tool delivers extended wear resistance and heat tolerance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 0.625 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length. The 40-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Four flutes provide a solid balance between chip clearance and surface finish quality. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and CNC technicians working in job shop and production environments.
The 111-03224 is suited for face milling, slotting, and peripheral milling operations on machining centers and manual knee mills. Its centercutting capability allows plunge cuts without a pre-drilled entry hole, expanding its range of use in pocket and contour operations. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling on most CNC and manual setups. The 0.5 inch shank diameter provides a direct fit into standard ER or side-lock toolholders without the need for reduction collets.
Designed as a standard replacement or stocking tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 0.5 inch straight shank toolholders, including ER collet chucks and side-lock holders. Part of the PROMAX Series 111 end mill line.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before torquing the retention mechanism. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use and discard any tool showing edge damage to avoid workpiece damage or tool breakage.
