The PROMAX 111-01612 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 0.75-inch length of cut, and a TiCN coating, this tool delivers consistent performance when cutting high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel. The micrograin carbide substrate supports edge retention at elevated cutting speeds, and the 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are standard for conventional milling setups. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and profiling in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. The 0.25-inch shank fits standard 1/4-inch collets and end-mill holders on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. With a 2.5-inch overall length and a regular-length classification, it handles typical depth requirements without the deflection risk of extended-reach tooling. Primary target materials include high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and general-purpose steel. It is not center-cutting, so it is not suited for direct plunge operations without pre-drilling or ramping entry.
Designed for use in 1/4-inch collets and end-mill holders on vertical machining centers and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece materials include high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and steel.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully into a clean, properly sized collet or end-mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Ensure the spindle and machine table are powered down and at a complete stop before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation to confirm concentricity before cutting.
