The PROMAX 109-03246 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide with a zirconium nitride (ZrN) finish, this tool delivers wear resistance and edge retention across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Three right-hand spiral flutes with right-hand cut direction make this a standard single-end centercutting tool capable of plunge entry. Installation and use require a milling machine or machining center with a 1/2 inch tool holder or collet.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose and finish milling applications in shop and production environments. The 40-degree helix and micrograin carbide construction make it effective for slot milling, peripheral milling, and profiling passes. With a 4 inch overall length and 1/2 inch shank diameter, it fits standard ER and straight-shank collet chucks used on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The ZrN coating provides additional lubricity and heat resistance, extending tool life in dry or light-lubrication cutting conditions. This is a Series 109 tool intended for professional machinists and CNC operators.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill with a 1/2 inch shank diameter, compatible with ER collets, straight-shank chucks, and similar 1/2 inch tool holders used on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tooling procedures for the machine in use. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Verify collet or chuck torque settings per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the material being machined, as carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to chipping under excessive lateral load.
