The PROFESSIONAL PLASTICS STFE.010X12.000X72.000V is a virgin PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) plastic film sheet used in industrial, mechanical, and chemical sealing applications. Manufactured from unfilled virgin PTFE resin, this film delivers the material's full baseline properties: broad chemical resistance, low friction coefficient, and a wide service temperature range. The sheet measures 0.010 inches thick, 12 inches wide, and 72 inches long, with a tight thickness tolerance of plus or minus 0.001 inches. Machinists, pipefitters, and mechanical technicians use virgin PTFE film as a gasket blank, liner, or sealing layer where contamination from fillers or additives is not acceptable.
Virgin PTFE film in this gauge and width is a common shop stock item for fabricating custom gaskets, thread seals, bearing pads, and dielectric barriers. It cuts cleanly with a utility knife or die and conforms well under bolt-load compression. Typical applications include chemical processing equipment, plumbing flange seals, food-grade and pharmaceutical assemblies, and electrical insulation barriers where a clean, unfilled fluoropolymer is required. At 0.010 inches thick, this film is thin enough for close-tolerance sealing work while remaining dimensionally stable under moderate clamping force.
Designed as a general-purpose virgin PTFE film sheet for fabricating gaskets, seals, liners, and insulation barriers across industrial, plumbing, and mechanical trade applications.
Cut to shape using a sharp utility knife, scissors, or steel-rule die on a clean flat surface. When used as a flange gasket blank, follow the applicable piping or pressure-equipment code for bolt torque sequence and seating stress. Avoid exposing PTFE film to open flame or temperatures exceeding its rated service range, as thermal decomposition produces hazardous byproducts. Deburr any cut edges before installation to prevent tearing under compression.
