The PRO-SOURCE PRO10457 is a wire-backed pleated air filter rated MERV 10, designed for forced-air HVAC systems in residential and light commercial applications. Built with a synthetic filter media and a rigid paperboard frame, it captures 35% of target particles by arrestance and achieves 55% particle capture efficiency per ASHRAE 52.2-2012 testing. The wire backing supports the pleated media at airflow velocities up to 500 feet per minute, helping the filter hold its shape and maintain consistent performance throughout its service life. Nominal dimensions are 16 x 24 x 2 inches, with actual dimensions of 15-3/8 x 23-3/8 x 1-3/4 inches. Licensed HVAC technicians and building maintenance professionals are the typical installers.
This filter fits standard filter slots and filter housings calling for a 16 x 24 x 2 inch nominal size. It is suited for residential split systems, packaged units, air handlers, and light commercial rooftop units where a MERV 10 filtration level is specified. The synthetic pleated media provides a balance between airflow capacity and particulate control, making it appropriate for systems where dust, pollen, and mold spore capture is a priority without excessive static pressure penalty. Maximum system airflow rating is 1,325 CFM at rated face velocity.
Designed for use with any forced-air unit accepting a 16 x 24 x 2 inch nominal pleated filter, including residential and light commercial air handlers, furnaces, and packaged HVAC equipment.
Always shut down the air handler or furnace at the unit disconnect or thermostat before replacing the filter. Verify the airflow direction arrow on the filter frame aligns with the direction of airflow toward the blower. Confirm the filter slot accommodates the actual depth of 1-3/4 inches before installation, as nominal and actual dimensions differ. Filter replacement should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's maintenance schedule and applicable local codes.
