The PRO-SOURCE PC68-DOT-42 is a brass straight push-to-connect tube fitting designed for fast, tool-free connections in compressed air, pneumatic, and general-purpose fluid systems. One end accepts 1/4-inch outside diameter tubing via a push-to-connect collet mechanism, while the other end terminates in a male NPT threaded connection. The fitting is constructed from brass, offering solid corrosion resistance in moderate-pressure general service applications. It meets DOT standards, making it suitable for systems where Department of Transportation compliance is required. Overall length is approximately 0.98 inches, and the fitting weighs 0.15 pounds.
This fitting is intended for use in general-purpose pneumatic and fluid transfer applications across residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. Typical installations include compressed air lines, instrumentation tubing runs, and low-pressure hydraulic circuits. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals use this type of straight connector to transition from rigid or semi-rigid tubing to a threaded port on a valve, manifold, or equipment panel. The push-to-connect end simplifies installation by eliminating the need for ferrules, compression sleeves, or soldering.
Designed as a general-purpose straight push-to-connect fitting for systems using 1/4-inch OD tubing with a male NPT threaded port connection. Suitable for general-purpose pneumatic and fluid transfer applications as noted in the product specifications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified maintenance technician. Depressurize and isolate the system fully before removing any existing fitting or inserting this one. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads per standard plumbing practice before threading into the receiving port. To seat the push-to-connect end, insert tubing straight and fully until it bottoms out in the collet; to release, depress the collet ring and withdraw the tubing.
