The PRO-SOURCE BGSS 42 is a split ring hanger designed for suspending pipe and conduit runs from threaded rod in mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC installations. Fabricated from 304 stainless steel, it resists corrosion in wet, outdoor, and chemically active environments where carbon steel hangers would degrade. The two-piece split ring design allows the hanger to be installed around existing pipe without threading it on from the end, simplifying placement in retrofit and repair work. It accepts 3/8-inch threaded rod and is sold as a single unit. At under 0.2 pounds, it adds negligible dead load to the support structure.
Split ring hangers of this type appear in a wide range of commercial and residential applications: domestic water supply lines, drain and vent piping, refrigerant lines, and electrical conduit runs. The 304 stainless steel construction makes the BGSS 42 well suited for installations in mechanical rooms, coastal environments, food-service facilities, and anywhere pipe runs are exposed to moisture, condensation, or caustic vapors. Plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and electrical contractors all commonly specify stainless split ring hangers when longevity in a corrosive environment is a primary concern.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation split ring hanger for pipe and conduit support systems using 3/8-inch threaded rod.
Split ring hangers are typically installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC technicians in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes such as the IPC or IMC. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system before performing any work on active lines. Use the correct pipe size rating for the hanger to ensure the pipe is properly seated and supported without excessive lateral movement. Verify that the threaded rod, fasteners, and structural anchor are rated for the combined load of the pipe, contents, and hanger before completing the installation.
