The PRO-SOURCE 90380001009 is a 6-inch Schedule 80 PVC 45-degree elbow designed for pressure-rated piping systems where added wall thickness and impact resistance are required over Schedule 40. The slip x slip end connections accept solvent-welded socket joints on both ends, making installation straightforward for plumbers and pipefitters working with PVC pressure or drainage lines. Weighing 7.3 pounds, this fitting is built for industrial, commercial, and heavy-duty residential applications where standard-wall fittings are not specified. The 45-degree angle is used to redirect flow at a gentler turn than a 90-degree elbow, reducing turbulence and pressure drop in the line.
This fitting is suited for cold and ambient-temperature water distribution, industrial process piping, irrigation mains, and chemical-handling lines compatible with PVC. The Schedule 80 wall thickness meets requirements for higher-pressure systems and is commonly specified in commercial mechanical rooms, pump stations, and industrial facilities. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in above-ground and in some buried configurations where the schedule rating and local code allow PVC pressure fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using 6-inch nominal pipe with slip-style socket connections.
Installation requires shutting off the water supply and fully depressurizing and draining the line before cutting or disassembling any section. Use a PVC pipe cutter or fine-tooth saw, deburr and bevel the pipe end, and apply the appropriate Schedule 80 PVC primer and solvent cement per the manufacturer directions and local plumbing code, typically IPC or UPC. Allow full cure time before repressurizing the system. This fitting must be installed by a licensed plumber where required by local jurisdiction.
