The PRO-SOURCE 04986 is a brass twisted wire bristle brush designed for precision cleaning, deburring, and surface preparation in tight spaces and small-diameter bores. The brush head measures 1 inch in length with a 1/8 inch brush diameter, and the single-spiral construction distributes bristle contact evenly across the working surface. Individual wire filaments measure 0.003 inches in diameter, providing fine, controlled abrasion without aggressive material removal. The 0.091 inch stainless steel shank seats securely in standard rotary tools, drill chucks, and flex-shaft handpieces. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters reach for this style of brush when cleaning burrs from fittings, removing oxidation from small tubing ends, or prepping brazed joint surfaces.
This brush is suited for use in residential and light commercial trade applications wherever a small-diameter rotary cleaning tool is needed. Common scenarios include cleaning the interior of copper and brass fittings before soldering or brazing, deburring drilled holes in metal components, and light surface conditioning in confined areas. The brass fill material is non-sparking, making it appropriate for use near flammable materials when the work area is properly prepared. Overall length is 4 inches, which provides adequate clearance when used in a standard drill or rotary handpiece.
Designed for use with rotary tools, drill presses, and flex-shaft handpieces that accept a 0.091 inch round shank. Suitable for cleaning and deburring brass, copper, and similar soft metal fittings common in plumbing and HVAC applications.
This brush is installed and operated by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters using standard rotary equipment. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck is tightened before operating the tool. Wear appropriate eye protection when using any rotary wire brush, as wire filaments can dislodge during use. Follow applicable shop-safety and jobsite-safety procedures for rotating tools.
