The PRIME LINE PRODUCTS PL 14080 is a white-finish aluminum screen frame extrusion used to build or rebuild window and door screen assemblies. Measuring 3/4 inch wide by 5/16 inch deep by 94 inches long with a 0.020-inch wall thickness, this extruded aluminum channel provides a lightweight, rigid perimeter for stretched screen mesh. It is sold in a package of 20 pieces, making it well-suited for contractors and glazing professionals working on multi-unit residential or light commercial projects.
This frame extrusion is designed for standard screen fabrication applications in residential windows and doors. It pairs with nylon or metal corner hardware and accepts standard spline sizes for both aluminum and fiberglass mesh types. Installation professionals use it when fabricating replacement screens on site or at a shop, cutting lengths to fit existing frame openings.
Use with 4-pack corners PL7729, 100-pack PL14286 white nylon corners, or PL14294 metal miter corners. Use 0.165-inch spline with aluminum mesh or 0.185-inch spline with fiberglass mesh.
Screen frame fabrication is typically performed by glaziers, screen-shop technicians, or experienced window and door contractors. Cut frame sections to length using a miter saw or dedicated screen-frame cutter before inserting corner hardware. Always measure the rough opening carefully before cutting, as cut pieces cannot be returned to full length. Secure mesh with the appropriate spline size using a spline roller tool to ensure a tight, wrinkle-free result.
