The housing is cast from Zamak, a durable zinc-based alloy, and paired with an aluminum bolt. It installs onto the lower back-edge of the sash or door frame and provides an added layer of security when a window or door is held partially open for ventilation or locked fully closed. The bolt delivers a 1/2 inch reach, the body stands 11/16 inch tall, and mounting hole centers are spaced 1-5/8 inches apart. Installation requires minor drilling. Glaziers, window installers, and general contractors typically handle this type of hardware.

The MP4002 is suited for residential and light-commercial applications where sliding windows or patio doors need secondary security beyond the primary latch.
