The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6002145 is a jobber-length solid carbide drill bit sized at No. 46 wire gauge (0.0810 inches diameter) with a 118-degree standard point angle. Solid carbide construction provides superior hardness and wear resistance compared to high-speed steel, making it well suited for precision drilling in demanding materials. The bright, uncoated finish leaves the carbide surface as-ground, which is appropriate for non-ferrous and general-purpose applications. With an overall length of 1.75 inches and a flute length of 0.875 inches, this compact bit is designed for controlled, accurate drilling in tight or shallow-clearance setups. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician is the typical end user.
This drill bit is intended for general-purpose drilling operations, particularly in aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and similar workpiece materials. The regular spiral flute geometry and right-hand cut make it compatible with standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills equipped with compatible chucks. The straight shank fits conventional drill chucks without adapters. It is part of the Series D33F-D33W-D33L-D33M product family from Precision Twist Drill, which covers solid carbide jobber-length bits in the 0.0500 to 0.1000 inch diameter range.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and power drills accepting straight-shank bits up to 0.0810 inches. Rated for aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials per Series D33F-D33W-D33L-D33M specifications.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with cutting tool safety practices. Secure the workpiece fully before drilling and confirm the drill chuck is tightened properly to prevent bit slippage at this small diameter. Solid carbide bits are brittle — avoid lateral loading or flexing during use, as this can cause fracture. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machinery guarding requirements when operating drilling equipment.
