The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000926 is a taper length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of materials. It measures 0.1260 inches in diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle and is manufactured from high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish. The spiral flute geometry and web-thinned, tapered web configuration promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce entry force. The straight shank measures 0.1260 inches in diameter and 37.00 millimeters in length. At 4-3/16 inches overall length, this bit provides extended reach compared to jobber-length equivalents. Licensed machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and HVAC fabricators use this bit when standard-length drills lack the reach for deep-hole applications in tight assemblies.
This bit is suited for drilling through alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, malleable iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, high strength bronze, copper, magnesium, magnesium alloy, nickel, nickel alloy, cermet, graphite, and reinforced plastic materials. It is classified as a general-purpose tool and fits the Series 5ATL family from PRECISION TWIST DRILL. Typical applications include fabrication shops, mechanical contracting, HVAC sheet metal work, and plumbing rough-in where access depth exceeds the reach of standard jobber bits.
Designed as a general-purpose taper length drill bit conforming to DIN 340, compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.1260 inch straight shank. Suitable for use in hand drills, drill presses, and milling machine setups.
Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck before operation and verify zero runout where tolerances are critical. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling hardened steel, stainless steel, or nickel alloys to extend tool life, even though this bit does not have internal coolant-through capability. Dispose of metal chips safely and inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use.
