Product Description

The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000771 is a cobalt high-speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in steel and other metals. It features a 135-degree split-point angle that reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust requirements compared to standard 118-degree points. The oxide and straw finish provides a base level of lubricity and corrosion resistance. At 2.10 mm (0.0827 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 1-59/64 inches (1.9219 inches), this bit is suited for tight-tolerance hole work in light fabrication, maintenance, and production environments. A licensed machinist, millwright, or maintenance technician is the typical installer.

This bit is built for drilling into steel, cast iron, aluminum, nonferrous metals, and high-temp alloys, covering primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, and S per DIN 338 classification. The right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry with a web-thinned, tapered web configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation in deeper holes. The 2ACO series straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters. Typical applications include drilling fastener clearance holes, pilot holes, and precision holes in sheet metal or structural components where a small-diameter bit is required.

Key Features

  • Cobalt high-speed steel construction for increased heat and wear resistance in ferrous and hard materials
  • 135-degree split point reduces bit walking and cuts with lower axial force
  • Oxide and straw coating adds lubricity and surface protection
  • Web-thinned, tapered web improves chip flow and reduces torque demand
  • Regular spiral flute with right-hand cutting direction for standard drill press and handheld drill use
  • Meets DIN 338 and ANSI standards for consistent dimensional tolerances

Compatibility

Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style jobber drill bit compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.0827-inch straight cylindrical shank, suitable for drill presses, CNC machines, and handheld power drills across light industrial and maintenance applications.

Installation Notes

This bit is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, or millwrights using a standard keyed or keyless drill chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify the workpiece is firmly clamped. Do not exceed the recommended drilling depth of 0.9449 inches to avoid bit deflection or breakage. Coolant through is not supported; use external cutting fluid when drilling steel to manage heat and extend bit life.
