The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000756 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in steel and a wide range of metallic and non-metallic workpiece materials. It measures 13.00 mm (0.5118 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 5-15/16 inches (151.00 mm) and a 135-degree split-point geometry that self-centers on contact and reduces walking on hard surfaces. The flute length runs 3-31/32 inches (101.00 mm), providing adequate chip evacuation on through-hole and moderate-depth drilling operations. A straw oxide/bronze coating helps reduce friction and extend tool life in production environments. The two-flute right-hand spiral configuration follows DIN 338 and ANSI standards.
This bit is suited for drilling steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous alloys, and plastics. The heavy-duty cobalt construction makes it appropriate for harder steels where standard HSS bits work-harden or wear prematurely. Typical install scenarios include fabrication shops, HVAC equipment assembly, pipe fitting, and field service work requiring accurate, clean-entry holes in metal. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 3.9764 inches, consistent with the 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio of the Series 2ACO design.

Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or trade professional familiar with proper drilling speeds and feeds for cobalt tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before starting the spindle and verify the chuck key is removed. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling steel to manage heat buildup, even though coolant-through is not supported by this tool internally. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use; a dull cobalt bit generates excessive heat that can anneal the workpiece surface.
