The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000673 is a 3.25 mm (0.1280 inch) cobalt jobber-length drill bit engineered for general-purpose drilling in steel and other demanding workpiece materials. Built to DIN 338 and ANSI standards, it features a 135-degree split point for reduced walking and faster penetration without a center punch. The two-flute regular spiral design evacuates chips efficiently, while the oxide and straw finish provides lubrication and heat resistance during high-speed operation. The web-thinned, tapered web construction lowers cutting resistance, making this bit a dependable choice for machinists, pipefitters, electricians, and maintenance trades working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
This jobber drill is suited for production and maintenance drilling in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys, corresponding to workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, and S per ISO classification. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks on benchtop drill presses, magnetic drills, and handheld power drills without adapters. With an overall length of 2.5625 inches (65 mm) and a flute length of 1.4219 inches (36 mm), the 6000673 covers typical jobber-length boring tasks in sheet metal, structural steel, and mechanical assemblies.
Designed for general-purpose drilling in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys (ISO workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, S). Fits any standard drill chuck accepting a 3.25 mm (0.1280 inch) straight cylindrical shank.
Install and remove drill bits only after the spindle has come to a complete stop and the machine is powered down or unplugged. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Follow applicable OSHA machine guarding requirements and shop safety protocols during operation.
