The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000669 is a cobalt high-speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in steel and other metals. It features a 135-degree split point with web thinning, which reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust requirements at the spindle. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3.20 mm (0.1260 inches) in diameter and seats directly into standard drill chucks without adapters. At 2-9/16 inches overall length with a 1-27/64-inch flute, this bit handles the depth demands of typical jobber drilling tasks. The oxide and bronze straw coating provides baseline lubricity and heat resistance during drilling operations. This bit is built to DIN 338 and ANSI standards and is classified as heavy-duty grade.
This drill bit is intended for drilling operations in steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and some composite materials, as reflected by its P, M, K, N, and S workpiece material codes. It is suited for use in manual drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power drills where a straight-shank jobber bit is required. The 2-flute regular spiral geometry promotes chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working in light manufacturing or fieldwork environments will find this bit appropriate for day-to-day metal drilling tasks. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit compatible with any drill chuck or collet accepting a 3.20 mm (0.1260-inch) straight shank. Suitable for workpiece materials classified under P, M, K, N, and S categories per DIN 338, including steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and select composites.
Machinists and maintenance technicians should secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before beginning a drilling cycle. Power down the machine and lock out the spindle before changing bits. Follow shop-specific speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and bit diameter; consult published cobalt HSS cutting data tables for recommended RPM ranges. Coolant through-spindle is not available on this bit, so external cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling harder steel grades.
