The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000632 is a cobalt high-speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for drilling steel and other metallic workpieces in production and maintenance environments. Built to DIN 338 and ANSI standards, it measures 2.40 mm (0.0945 inches) in diameter with a 135-degree split-point geometry and a web-thinned tip that reduces thrust and improves centering without a pilot hole. The tapered web and regular spiral flutes promote efficient chip evacuation across a flute length of 1.1875 inches. An oxide and straw coating provides added surface hardness and lubricity. This is a general-purpose, heavy-duty grade bit suited for machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working in metal.
The 6000632 is suited for drilling steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and similar materials as indicated by its primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, and S. With a 2.25-inch overall length and a 12xD flute-by-diameter ratio, it fits standard drill chucks on benchtop drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling equipment. Its straight cylindrical shank accommodates common three-jaw chucks without a sleeve or adapter. This bit is a solid choice for through-hole and blind-hole work in sheet metal, structural steel, and light fabrication applications where a small-diameter, tight-tolerance hole is required.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill for use in standard three-jaw chucks on drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling machines. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S, including steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Conforms to DIN 338 and ANSI standards for jobber-length straight-shank drill bits in the 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm diameter range.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using standard drill chuck tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck jaws before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Always power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing bits. Do not exceed the recommended drilling depth of 1.1811 inches as indicated by the flute geometry, and use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling steel to extend tool life and maintain hole quality.
