The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000564 is a cobalt high-speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for production drilling in steel and other demanding workpiece materials. It measures 8.50 mm (0.3346 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 4-39/64 inches (117 mm). The 135-degree split point geometry reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust requirements, making it well-suited for hand-held drilling operations and drill press work where precise hole placement matters. The oxide and straw coating provides moderate lubricity and heat resistance during drilling cycles. A web-thinned, tapered web construction maintains cutting efficiency as the bit wears. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors rely on this series for general-purpose metal drilling tasks.
This jobber drill is built for drilling steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and select specialty alloys, consistent with the P, M, K, N, and S workpiece material codes. It conforms to DIN 338 and ANSI standards, making it a drop-in fit for standard drill chucks and CNC tool holders using straight-shank tooling. The 2ACO series is a general-purpose heavy-duty line sized for shops that drill a broad range of materials without switching to specialty carbide tooling. Typical applications include fabrication, maintenance and repair operations, and light production environments.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks, keyed and keyless chucks, and collet systems accepting an 8.50 mm (0.3346 inch) shank diameter across drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Always wear appropriate eye protection and ensure the workpiece is clamped or fixtured before applying feed pressure. Follow applicable shop safety standards and the drill press or machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material.
