The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000545 is a cobalt high-speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for accurate, repeatable hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It carries a 7.30 mm (0.2874 inch) diameter, a 135-degree split-point angle, and an oxide/straw finish that provides lubricity and heat resistance during cutting. Overall length is 4-19/64 inches (4.2969 inches), with a flute length of 2-23/32 inches (2.7188 inches). The straight cylindrical shank seats cleanly in standard drill chucks. This bit is built to DIN 338 and ANSI standards and is intended for use by machinists, maintenance mechanics, and metalworking tradespeople.
The 6000545 is suited for general-purpose drilling in steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and other materials covered by workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, and S. The 9xD flute-to-diameter ratio and two-flute regular spiral design provide efficient chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. Web-thinned construction reduces thrust at entry and is particularly useful when drilling tougher alloys where standard web geometry would cause excessive pressure. This bit fits production, maintenance, and repair work where a reliable heavy-duty jobber drill is needed.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 7.30 mm (0.2874 inch) straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for workpiece material categories P, M, K, N, and S per the manufacturer specification.
Install in a properly sized drill chuck and verify secure shank seating before operation. Machinists and maintenance mechanics should apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling steel or hard alloys to extend tool life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Maximum drilling depth for this bit is 2.7165 inches; avoid exceeding this depth without a peck-drilling cycle to clear chips. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace when chipping or dulling is observed.
