It measures 0.0472 inches (1.20 mm) in diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle and a bright, uncoated high speed steel construction. The straight shank and right-hand spiral flute design support consistent chip evacuation and accurate hole entry. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 6xD and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration, this bit delivers controlled penetration in both manual and machine-fed applications. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and fabricators are the primary installers.
This taper length drill bit is suited for general-purpose drilling in production and toolroom settings where a longer flute than a jobber-length bit is needed for deeper reach. The extended flute length of 1-39/64 inches (41.00 mm) and overall length of 2-9/16 inches (65.00 mm) make it appropriate for drilling through-holes or deeper passages in workpieces where standard-length bits fall short. It conforms to DIN 340 specification, making it compatible with metric-standard tooling setups.

This bit is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in drill presses, CNC machines, or hand-held power drills equipped with an appropriately sized chuck or collet. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and the chuck is secure before changing tooling. Use cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tool life, particularly when drilling stainless steel, hardened steel, or nickel alloys. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace or resharpen when wear is visible to maintain hole quality and prevent breakage.
