The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000433 is a taper shank drill bit designed for heavy-duty drilling in metal, steel, and similar materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with an oxide finish, this bit delivers reliable cutting performance in general-purpose machining and fabrication applications. It features a 1.25-inch diameter, a 118-degree standard point angle, and a web-thinned tip that reduces thrust and improves penetration on tough workpieces. The 3MT (Morse Taper 3) shank seats directly into compatible taper-bore spindles on drill presses, lathes, and milling machines. With an overall length of 12.5 inches, this bit handles deeper bores without extension adapters.
This bit is suited for machine shop environments, maintenance and repair operations, and fabrication facilities where large-diameter holes are drilled in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The right-hand spiral flute with a 7.875-inch flute length efficiently evacuates chips during deep-hole drilling. The Series S209 designation places it within a well-established line of ANSI-standard taper shank drills used by machinists and toolroom professionals. It is appropriate for production drilling as well as job-shop work where consistent hole quality at 1.25 inches diameter is required.
Designed for use in drill presses, lathes, and milling machines equipped with a Morse Taper 3 (3MT) spindle socket. Fits any machine spindle or drill sleeve conforming to ANSI 3MT taper specifications.
A licensed machinist or trained toolroom operator should install and operate this bit. Before mounting, power down and lock out the machine following applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Clean the taper shank and spindle bore of chips and oil before seating to ensure full contact and prevent shank slippage. A proper drift key should be used to eject the bit from the spindle — do not strike the spindle housing to remove the bit.
