The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000322 is a taper length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of materials. Built from high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it features a 0.3480-inch diameter, a standard 118-degree point angle, and a web-thinned tapered web configuration for improved penetration and reduced thrust. The right-hand spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation. With an overall length of 6.75 inches and a flute length of 4.25 inches, this bit is suited for reaching deeper holes than a jobber-length bit allows. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals install this bit in standard drill presses, CNC machines, and hand-held power drills.
The 6000322 is rated for use in alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, malleable iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, high strength bronze, copper, magnesium, magnesium alloy, nickel, nickel alloy, hardened steel, cermet, graphite, and reinforced plastic materials. Its general-purpose grade and regular spiral type make it a versatile choice for job shop environments, maintenance facilities, and fabrication shops where a single bit must handle varied stock materials without frequent changeovers.
Designed as a general-purpose taper length drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and portable power drills where a 0.3480-inch diameter straight shank is accepted.
Installation and use should be performed by machinists or qualified technicians familiar with cutting tool safety practices. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow the machine manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if the point is damaged.
