The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000286 is a high speed steel extra length drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling applications where standard-length bits cannot reach. Built to ANSI standards, this bit features a 9/16 inch (0.5625 inch) diameter, an 18 inch overall length, and a 13 inch spiral flute length, delivering the reach needed for structural, fabrication, and mechanical work. The 118-degree standard point with web thinning reduces entry thrust and improves chip evacuation. Right-hand cutting with a regular spiral and tapered web configuration makes this a dependable general-purpose tool for professional machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians.
This bit is suited for drilling through aluminum, magnesium, copper, nickel, synthetic materials, and titanium as primary workpiece materials. Secondary applications include hardened steel, stainless steel, malleable iron, nickel alloys, high strength bronze, magnesium alloys, and reinforced plastic. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters. Common install scenarios include deep through-hole drilling in structural steel fabrication, equipment maintenance, and general machine shop operations requiring extended reach beyond standard drill bit lengths.
Designed as a general-purpose extra length drill bit compatible with standard drill chucks and presses accepting a 9/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use on aluminum, magnesium, copper, nickel, titanium, stainless steel, hardened steel, malleable iron, nickel alloys, high strength bronze, magnesium alloys, and reinforced plastic materials.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with drill press or hand drill safety procedures. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and ensure the chuck is fully tightened on the shank before operation. Power down and de-energize all equipment before changing bits. Do not exceed the recommended feed rate or RPM for the workpiece material, and use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling ferrous or hardened materials to extend tool life.
