The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000266 is a taper length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of materials. Built from high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it measures 7/64 inch (0.1094 inches) in diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle. The straight shank and right-hand spiral flute deliver consistent chip evacuation and straight entry. Web thinning reduces thrust at the point, making it easier to start and drive through material. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians will find this bit suited to production and repair work alike.
This bit is part of the Series R51 lineup, built to ANSI standards. It handles drilling in alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, copper, graphite, hardened steel, magnesium, malleable iron, nickel, nickel alloy, reinforced plastic materials, stainless steel, cermet, high strength bronze, and magnesium alloy. The 6xD flute-length-to-diameter ratio and 2.5-inch flute length provide adequate chip clearance in moderate-depth holes. Overall length is 4.625 inches, making it suitable for applications that require more reach than a jobber-length bit provides.
Designed as a general-purpose taper length drill bit compatible with standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 0.1094-inch straight shank. Suitable for drilling alloy steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, copper, graphite, hardened steel, magnesium, malleable iron, nickel, nickel alloy, reinforced plastics, stainless steel, cermet, and high strength bronze.
Install in a compatible drill press, mill, or hand drill with a chuck rated for the shank diameter before use. Secure the workpiece and confirm the chuck is fully tightened before starting the spindle. When drilling hardened steel or stainless steel, use cutting fluid to extend tool life and reduce heat buildup. Do not exceed the recommended speed range for the material being drilled.
