The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000259 is a taper length high speed steel drill bit designed for precision hole-making across a wide range of materials. It carries a 0.2010 inch diameter (Wire Size #7) with a 118-degree standard point angle and a bright, uncoated finish. The overall length is 6 inches, with a spiral flute length of 3-5/8 inches and a 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio that gives it added reach over jobber-length bits. The straight shank and right-hand cut make it compatible with standard drill chucks. A tapered web configuration and web-thinned point reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation when drilling into tougher alloys.
This bit is built for general purpose drilling in production and maintenance environments where extended reach is needed without moving to a full aircraft-length bit. It is suited for machine shop work, field service, and fabrication. The Series R52 designation places it in PRECISION TWIST DRILL's standard general-purpose taper length line, conforming to ANSI standards. Material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, copper, graphite, hardened steel, high strength bronze, magnesium, magnesium alloy, malleable iron, nickel, nickel alloy, reinforced plastic materials, and stainless steel.
Designed as an OEM-style general purpose taper length drill bit suitable for use with standard straight-shank drill chucks in hand drills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers where a 0.2010 inch bore diameter is required.
Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck before operation. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling hardened steel, stainless steel, or other high-strength alloys to extend tool life, unless the application specifically requires dry drilling. Inspect the drill point for chipping or wear before each use, as a damaged point will produce oversized or off-center holes.
