The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000191 is a taper length high speed steel drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of materials in professional trade and industrial settings. It measures 0.0700 inches in diameter, equivalent to wire gauge size 50, with a 118-degree standard point angle and a 2-inch spiral flute. The overall length is 3-3/4 inches. The straight shank and right-hand cut geometry make it compatible with standard drill chucks. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust at entry and improves chip evacuation during drilling operations.
This bit is suited for metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and precision production drilling where a longer flute-to-diameter ratio is needed. The 6xD flute length ratio allows deeper hole drilling compared to a jobber-length bit of the same diameter. It is sold individually but ordered in minimum quantities of 12. Typical applications include drilling into alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, nickel alloys, magnesium alloys, reinforced plastics, graphite, and cermet workpieces.
Designed as a general-purpose taper length drill bit compatible with any standard straight-shank drill chuck accepting a 0.0700-inch shank diameter. Confirmed material compatibility includes alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, cermet, copper, graphite, hardened steel, high strength bronze, magnesium, magnesium alloy, malleable iron, nickel, nickel alloy, reinforced plastic materials, and stainless steel.
Install and remove drill bits only with the machine fully powered down and the chuck key removed from the chuck. Secure the straight shank firmly in the chuck before operation to prevent slippage under torque. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication when drilling ferrous metals and stainless steel to extend tool life and manage heat buildup. Dispose of worn or chipped bits per shop safety protocols — small-diameter bits are susceptible to breakage under lateral load.
