The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000181 is an extra-length, high-speed steel twist drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in a wide range of materials. It carries a 11/16-inch (0.6875-inch) diameter, a 12-inch overall length (OAL), and a 9-inch spiral flute length, making it well suited for applications where standard-length bits cannot reach. The straight-cylindrical shank and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with conventional drill chucks. The uncoated HSS construction and web-thinned, tapered web geometry support controlled chip evacuation during extended cuts. Machinists, maintenance mechanics, and industrial tradespeople typically reach for this bit when boring through thick stock or deep structural sections.
This drill bit is built for general-purpose use and is rated for a broad material range including aluminum, magnesium, copper, nickel, titanium, and various synthetic materials as primary workpiece materials. Secondary applications include stainless steel, hardened steel, nickel alloys, malleable iron, high-strength bronze, magnesium alloy, reinforced plastics, and steel. Its 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deep penetration with adequate chip clearance, making it a practical choice in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments where hole depth is a constraint.
Designed as a general-purpose extra-length drill bit compatible with standard drill chucks accepting an 11/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for use in aluminum, magnesium, copper, nickel, titanium, stainless steel, hardened steel, malleable iron, nickel alloys, high-strength bronze, reinforced plastics, and steel workpieces.
Install in a drill press, milling machine, or hand drill with a chuck rated for the 11/16-inch shank diameter. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before cutting. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to manage heat buildup during extended deep-hole operations. Power down and de-energize all equipment before changing or inspecting bits.
