The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000137 is an extra length high-speed steel drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in metalworking and industrial applications. At 0.2188 inches in diameter with an 8-inch overall length and a 6-inch spiral flute, this bit reaches depths that standard-length drills cannot. The 118-degree standard point angle with web-thinned geometry reduces entry force and helps center the bit without a pilot hole. The bright uncoated finish is suitable for general-purpose drilling in a wide range of materials. This bit is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die workers, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working on production or repair operations.
This drill bit fits Series 860 extra length applications and is suited for drilling aluminum, magnesium, copper, nickel, titanium, synthetic materials, stainless steel, malleable iron, hardened steel, high-strength bronze, nickel alloys, and reinforced plastics. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks on drill presses, milling machines, and hand drills. The 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in deep-hole passes, making it practical for through-hole work in thick stock or stacked material where a jobber-length bit would come up short.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose extra length drill bit compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.2188-inch straight cylindrical shank, including drill presses, CNC machining centers, milling machines, and hand-held power drills.
This bit is installed by machinists and maintenance technicians using standard drill chucks or collet holders. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout before drilling critical-tolerance holes. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to extend tool life, particularly when drilling stainless steel or nickel alloys. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine-guarding requirements when operating drilling equipment.
