The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000120 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for production drilling in tough materials. Built to NAS 907 standards, it carries a No. 9 wire gauge size with a decimal diameter of 0.1960 inches and a 135-degree split point for self-centering starts with minimal walking. The web-thinned, tapered-web construction reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. An oxide bronze finish provides light lubricity and corrosion resistance during cutting operations. This bit is sized for right-hand spiral fluting and is sold individually, though ordering in multiples of 12 is required per supplier terms.
This drill bit is suited for use in metalworking applications across a range of materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It is a general-purpose jobber-length bit commonly used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and sheet metal workers in both shop and field settings. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks. Installation is performed by machinists and maintenance technicians using standard drill presses, hand drills, or CNC equipment with an appropriately sized chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and confirm the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to manage heat buildup, particularly when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use and replace if the point geometry is compromised.
