The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000035 is a reduced shank drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in ferrous metals and a wide range of secondary materials. It features a 59/64 inch (0.9210 inch decimal) cutting diameter paired with a 1/2 inch Weldon shank, allowing it to seat securely in standard 1/2 inch chucks without slippage. The bit is manufactured from high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish and ground to a 118-degree standard point angle. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians use this bit for production and repair drilling where a reduced shank is needed to bridge large-diameter cutting to a smaller chuck capacity.
This bit fits into Series R57 and is suited for drilling ferrous metals as the primary workpiece material. Secondary compatible materials include aluminum, copper, magnesium, nickel, titanium, synthetic materials, and cermet. The 3-inch flute length supports a maximum drilling depth of 3 inches, and the 6-inch overall length works with most standard drill presses, milling machines, and heavy-duty hand drills equipped with a 1/2 inch chuck. It is a general-purpose tool appropriate for both shop and field maintenance environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use bit for machines equipped with a 1/2 inch Weldon-style chuck or collet. Compatible primary workpiece material is ferrous metal; secondary workpiece materials include aluminum, cermet, copper, magnesium, nickel, synthetic, and titanium. Meets ANSI standards.
Installation is performed by machinists or qualified maintenance technicians. Before securing the bit, ensure the drill press, mill, or hand drill is fully powered down and the chuck is clean and free of debris. Seat the Weldon shank fully into the chuck and tighten set screws against the flats to prevent rotation under load. Always apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend bit life and improve cut quality; this bit does not include an internal coolant channel.
