The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5999904 is an extra length, high speed steel drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in metalworking and industrial machining applications. Built to Series 1813 specifications, this bit measures 13/16 inch (0.8125 inches) in diameter with an 18-inch overall length and a 13-inch spiral flute length, giving machinists the reach needed for through-holes and extended-depth bores that standard length bits cannot access. The uncoated HSS construction provides reliable performance across a wide range of workpiece materials. Web-thinning reduces thrust at entry and improves chip evacuation in harder stock. This bit is sold individually and is suited for production and maintenance environments where precision drilling depth matters.
This extra length drill bit is used in metalworking shops, maintenance and repair operations, and manufacturing environments requiring deep-bore capability. Its 118-degree standard point angle and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with conventional drill presses, mill spindles, and handheld magnetic drills. Primary workpiece materials include aluminum, magnesium, copper, nickel, titanium, and synthetic materials. Secondary material suitability extends to stainless steel, steel, hardened steel, malleable iron, nickel alloys, high strength bronze, magnesium alloys, and reinforced plastics. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style general purpose extra length drill bit suitable for use in standard drill press chucks and milling machine spindles accepting a 13/16-inch straight shank. Compatible primary workpiece materials include aluminum, magnesium, copper, nickel, synthetic, and titanium. Secondary materials include hardened steel, stainless steel, high strength bronze, magnesium alloys, malleable iron, nickel alloys, and reinforced plastic materials.
Installation of this bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool operator. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully and squarely in the drill chuck before operation to prevent runout. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing or adjusting tooling. Due to the extended length and diameter, use appropriate feed rates and cutting fluids to maintain bit life and avoid deflection on deep-bore operations.
