The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5999652 is a 1.50 mm cobalt high-speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metalworking applications. It features a 135-degree split point with web thinning for reduced walking and easier entry without a center punch. The straw oxide finish provides light lubricity and corrosion resistance. The straight cylindrical shank measures 1.5 mm in diameter and the overall length is 1.5781 inches, keeping the bit compact for use in standard drill chucks. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractors as well as machine shop technicians use this size for tapping pilot holes, clearance holes, and precision metalwork in steel and non-ferrous materials.
This bit is suited for drilling steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temp alloys as indicated by the P, M, K, N, and S workpiece material classifications. The regular spiral flute geometry and 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it a standard choice for light drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous stock. The DIN 338 specification and ANSI compliance make it compatible with production-floor and field-service applications where dimensional standards matter. It is sold individually but is available in multiples of 12.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose jobber drill bit compatible with any standard drill chuck or CNC spindle accepting a 1.5 mm straight shank. Suitable for primary workpiece materials classified P, M, K, N, and S per ISO material group standards.
This bit is installed and operated by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals using standard drill presses, hand drills, or CNC equipment. Ensure the chuck is properly tightened and the workpiece is secured before drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling hardened steel or stainless alloys to extend tool life. Replace the bit if the point shows signs of dulling, chipping, or discoloration from heat buildup.
