The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5999612 is a 1.00 mm cobalt jobber-length drill bit engineered for general-purpose drilling in steel and other demanding materials. Built to DIN 338 and ANSI standards, it features a 135-degree split point with web thinning for reduced thrust and faster engagement. The straw oxide finish provides light lubricity and heat resistance during dry or minimally lubricated drilling. With a straight cylindrical shank and regular spiral flute geometry, the bit chucks reliably in standard drill chucks and CNC collets. It is suited for use by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and metal fabricators working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
The 5999612 is designed for production and maintenance drilling applications where small-diameter precision holes are required. Its 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio and cobalt construction make it appropriate for drilling carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. The two-flute regular spiral design promotes clean chip evacuation in short-hole drilling operations. At 34.00 mm overall length with a 12.00 mm flute length, it is sized for jobber-length reach in standard drill press, hand drill, and CNC spindle setups.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement drill bit rated for primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, and S, covering steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys per DIN classification.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle operation. Secure the straight shank fully within the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow shop safety protocols when drilling metal. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material to avoid premature tool wear or bit fracture.
