The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5999130 is a No. 30 wire-gauge jobber length drill bit designed for production and general-purpose drilling in metal fabrication and maintenance applications. Built from high speed steel with a steam oxide coating, this bit delivers reliable performance in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and requires less feed pressure compared to a standard 118-degree point. Overall length is 2.75 inches with a 1.625-inch flute length. A right-hand spiral flute and tapered web with web thinning support efficient chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole operations.
This drill bit is suited for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld drill motors across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Typical applications include sheet metal work, structural steel fabrication, HVAC bracket drilling, plumbing rough-in, and electrical panel preparation. The 0.1285-inch decimal diameter corresponds to wire gauge No. 30. The R18B series designation and NAS 907 specification make this bit a recognized standard in aerospace and general metalworking environments where dimensional consistency is required.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank drill chucks accepting a 0.1285-inch shank. Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Rated for a maximum drilling depth of 1.625 inches.
Install in a properly sized drill chuck and tighten securely before operation. Secure the workpiece with clamps or a vise before drilling to prevent movement. Use cutting fluid or coolant appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use, particularly when drilling hardened materials or superalloys.
