The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5999065 is a Number 14 wire-size jobber length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of materials. Manufactured from high speed steel with a steam oxide coating, this bit runs a 135-degree split-point angle that reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust requirements compared to a standard 118-degree point. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.1820 inches in diameter and seats directly into standard drill chucks. Overall length is 3.375 inches with a 2.1875-inch flute length, keeping the tool rigid while providing adequate chip clearance. This is a right-hand, two-flute spiral bit suited for production and maintenance drilling work by machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians.
The 5999065 is rated for drilling into steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and other hard materials. The web-thinned, tapered-web construction reduces cutting resistance in tougher alloys, making it a practical choice for both light-production runs and field maintenance scenarios. The regular spiral flute geometry promotes consistent chip evacuation. This bit is part of the Series R10B-R15B-R18B and meets ANSI and NAS 907 standards, making it suitable for aerospace and industrial applications where dimensional conformance is required.
Rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.1820-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Conforms to ANSI and NAS 907 specification requirements.
This bit is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople using standard drill presses, hand drills, or CNC equipment. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and confirm the workpiece is clamped or fixtured. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to manage heat buildup and extend tool life. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 2.1875 inches per pass without retracting to clear chips.
