The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 5997021 is a jobber-length drill bit sized at wire gauge 52 (0.0635 inches decimal), ground from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish. The 135-degree split point and web-thinned tip reduce walking at entry and lower the thrust force needed to start a hole, making it well-suited for production drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Overall length is 1.875 inches with a 0.875-inch flute length and a straight cylindrical shank. The two-flute parabolic spiral design promotes chip evacuation in deep-hole applications relative to overall diameter. This bit is a general-purpose, heavy-duty grade tool intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople.
This drill bit is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The QC21P series is built to ANSI standards and carries a 14xD flute-to-diameter ratio, making it appropriate for guided drilling operations in tight-tolerance applications. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. It is packaged individually and suited for bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling setups where a 0.0635-inch diameter is required. Typical use cases include pilot holes, through-holes in thin stock, and precision location drilling in fabrication and repair work.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Compatible with any drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle accepting a straight cylindrical shank at 0.0635 inches diameter. No coolant-through capability; intended for dry or externally cooled drilling applications.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tradesperson familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized chuck before operation, and verify spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter. Do not use with hammering action or in rotary hammer mode. Wear appropriate eye protection and ensure the workpiece is securely clamped before drilling.
